We started using Asset Keeper in 2008. All of the assets on the books were entered into Asset Keeper at that time using the correct inservice dates (i.e. prior to 2008). Asset Keeper calculated the correct depreciation for each month for 2008, but does not calculate the correct depreciation for 2009. The 2009 depreciation amount is less than 2008 in all cases by varying degrees.
Assets placed inservice in 2008 all depreciate fine for 2008 and 2009. I cannot find any difference in the set-up of the assets between those placed inservice in 2008 and prior to that. We have run the reset to 2009 to see if is correct and our depreciation for 2009 is less by about 2/3 than what it should be.
